December Nights

With festivities in the heart of Balboa Park, December Nights is a San Diego tradition. The festival features caroling, food, bands, choirs, crafts, shopping, light displays, music, theater and dance performances, as well as free admission to many park museums.

On August 17th, The Half Marathon begins at historic Cabrillo National Monument, with its majestic view of both San Diego Bay and the Pacific Ocean, follows scenic San Diego Bay and Harbor Island along the Embarcadero to The Star of India, winds through downtown San Diego, and ends in beautiful Balboa Park. Starts at 7:00am.

Location: Del Mar, California

One of the biggest events of the year. Just an exit away from Bella Del Mar the 2008 Del Mar Horse Racing season begins July 16th at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, where the Surf Meets the Turf. Experience World-Class racing and to-notch entertainment.

Just a few miles north on I-5 from Del Mar Heights Rd, running until July 6th is the San Diego County Fair. Great fun and entertainment.
